Driving northwest from either Entebbe Airport or Kampala through the resplendent countryside of Uganda, you will spend two nights near the forest, then return home with unforgettable memories and photos of these gentle giants in their natural habitat.
Your journey begins at Entebbe International Airport, where your professional guide will welcome you. Settle into a comfortable 4x4 vehicle for the scenic 8-9 hour drive to Bwindi, passing through Uganda's rolling hills and rural villages. You'll stop at the Equator line for photos and a brief explanation, plus enjoy lunch at a local restaurant en route. Arrive at your lodge by evening for check-in, dinner, and a briefing about the next day's gorilla trekking adventure in Uganda.
You get up early and have your breakfast, then move to the bwindi impenetrable park headquarters. After you've taken the necessary coffee break, we'll later head into the heart of this great ancient jungle. At this point in the walk, you and your companions will follow your paces into dense forest, where it will definitely get quieter. Gorilla trekking in bwindi at this stage with atleast 1 hour in the presence of these humble gorillas. After this, you should arrive at your quarters for the night.
Rise early, have breakfast and then go down to meet some rangers at the park headquarters. You Get divided into small parties and with one of our experienced guides take a hike deep into the forest. (Gorilla groups move around - hikes can last from 1 hour to more than 6 hours.) Once you've located a gorilla family, spend one magical hour watching their behavior: infants playing, silverbacks feeding on bamboo shoots and mothers attending to their young. Back at the lodge, lunch will be served and an afternoon laid out for relaxing or optional community walks.
