This compact 3-day nyungwe forest wildlife tour adventure takes you to one of Africa’s oldest and best-preserved rainforests, home to 13 primate species including chimpanzees. After breakfast, the journey begins with a 5-6 hour drive through Rwanda's breathtaking landscapes. Along the way, stop to see important genocide memorials and learn from them about Rwanda's history and remarkable recovery. Continue on to Nyungwe Forest. Lunch is served at a local restaurant before arriving late afternoon. Check into the comfortable lodge, perched on the edge of the forest. You'll be treated to Dinner and an evening briefing about tomorrow's chimpanzee trek together with your guide.
Wake up early for your chimpanzee trekking experience. After briefing by park rangers, venture into the dense forest to track habituated chimpanzee families, observing their fascinating behaviors as they feed and interact. The afternoon offers a thrilling canopy walk 60 meters above the forest floor (optional), providing breathtaking views and birdwatching opportunities. Return to your lodge for relaxation and dinner.
