A typical gorilla safari in Bwindi begins with an early morning drive to the park headquarters, where visitors are grouped and briefed by expert guides. You’ll then embark on a guided trek through dense vegetation, often climbing steep and slippery slopes in pursuit of a gorilla family. Treks may be challenging, but are suitable for most fitness levels with porter support available.
Once you locate the gorillas, you are allowed a magical 60 minutes to observe them from a safe distance of about 7 meters.
